Gentle and sustainable intimate care from YOUCARE
YOUCARE wants a more sustainable world. That is why we have made some eco-friendly choices regarding packaging and production. But for us, sustainability means more than taking better care of the climate and the planet. We also need to get better at sustaining ourselves by taking care of our bodies and caring for ourselves. That is sustainable for our health and well-being.
Our packaging is chosen with sustainability in mind, and most materials are recyclable. We use 100% recycled plastic and bioplastic, because we think it is important to avoid waste and reduce the amount of fossil fuels from new packaging.
Our cream tubes, made from sugar cane fibers (also called sugarcane), are an eco-friendly alternative that requires less energy and water to produce compared with traditional plastic packaging. The sugarcane tubes consist of bio-based polyethylene (approx. 96%) and contain no BPA (Bisphenol A). For the production of 1 kg of sugar cane material, it has been estimated that the sugar cane plant has previously absorbed approx. 3.09 kg of CO2 from the atmosphere, and that sugarcane tubes have a 30% better carbon footprint than conventional PE tubes. This helps reduce our CO2 footprint.
Sustainable products
Our products contain natural ingredients that do not burden the environment. There are no harmful chemicals in them, and the packaging is eco-friendly. The containers for our foam and mist are made from 100% recycled plastic, and the tube for our cream is made from bioplastic. Outer packaging (a box) has been left out on most products for sustainability reasons. Both recycled plastic and bioplastic are sorted and disposed of as plastic waste.
